Seed Lake Rules and Regulations

BOATING

Life jackets must be worn on jet skies, paddle boards, tubing, and boating by those under the age of 10. Kayaks, canoes and boats must have 1 life jacket for each passenger on board.


OPERATING A BOAT

Must be 16 or older to operate a boat over 16 feet in length. Must be born after January 1, 1998. Must complete a Georgia DNR Safety Course.

Non-powered watercraft should operate near shoreline.

Treat the lake like a road,. Stay to the right.

Slow down when there is a skier in the water.

When in the Narrows watch for swimmers. 


100 FOOT RULE

All boats and jet skis must operate 100 feet from docks, swimmers, Swimming buoys, and other boats.

WAKE

Large wakes cause damage to docks, boathouses, and shorelines.

Be aware of your speed and wake.

Swimming

If swimming from you boat. Do it close to the shoreline or in a cove.

Try to swim near the swim buoys or from the beach where you are protected. 

IDLE SPEED

Idle Speed means NO WAKE. These ares are designated by signs. All of the "Narrows" ( past Sawmill Creek going toward the Dam) and near the public boat ramp.

Lake Etiquette

Be courteous to your lake neighbors. Follow the rules. Quiet hours are after 10 pm, on your dock or boat.
