Seed Lake in Rabun County Georgia is a beautiful and quiet mountain lake, situated below the Lake Burton Dam and above Lake Rabun. From adjacent roads Seed looks more like a river. This helps keep day traffic tamped down, because it appears too narrow to really enjoy boating activities and water sports; that is the beauty of it!
The smaller size discourages day visitors wanting to cruise the waters all day but is ideal for residents. The narrow channel actually helps dissipate boat wakes and keep waters relatively calm compared to it's larger siblings, especially on busy weekends. This makes it the perfect choice for skiing, boarding, swimming, canoeing, paddle boarding and fishing. It is also a perfect choice for dock sitting and solitude.
The 240-acre lake has only 133 tax lots scattering the 13 miles of shoreline with almost as many homes. The smaller number of homes makes this a tight community. The Seed Lake Association promotes activities throughout the summer so residents can get to know their neighbors and preserve the wellness of the lake.
Its an idyllic place to enjoy and create years of great memories!
The Association is a volunteer group dedicated to keeping our homeowners informed about important issues affecting our lake community.
Along with Georgia Power we maintain responsibility for the fallen trees and general clean up. The Department of Natural resources and the Fire Department are other services where we are in close contact regarding safety issues for our residents.
The Association also plays an active part in event planning for our residents. We hold an Annual HOA Meeting and Picnic and hold a Fourth of July Boat Parade and contest for best decorated boat and boat house. Fireworks follow on the lake that evening.
Float and dock parties are planned throughout the season and a festive Holiday Dinner Party.
A directory is published for use by our association members.
We hope you will become a member of our Association!
